Modern society is festooned in a virtual flood of technologies made from our own hands, intellect, and creativity. Technology in all forms is undeniably influential on our daily lives, and has all the power to make our existense better or worse. The defining uses of technology I argue are not when technology works seamlessly as expected. When technologies that are encountered fail to function, not only do they dissapoint and frustrate us, and compound the very problems that technology was designed to solve.

TECHNOLOGY SHOULD BE SEAMLESS

I believe that technology continues to evolve for the benefit humanity. To allow poorly designed technologies to frustrate and confuse us, we allow technology to waste our time from our lives. Not all technologies create frustration and dissapointment. Many companies produce quality software and hardware that survives its competitors no matter the number of iterations the other companies may flood the markets with.

I believe that as technology continues to evolve, we will see more modular products, more firmware upgrades, and fewer items of planned-obsolesence. Without an introduction to a technology that is truly user-friendly, many consumers will be sidled with confusion over choices, and an environmentally-destructive cycle of replacement technologies.
