{"id":36,"date":"2008-06-24T17:13:47","date_gmt":"2008-06-24T22:13:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theboobiehatch.com\/tbh\/blaarg\/?p=36"},"modified":"2010-06-09T02:04:43","modified_gmt":"2010-06-09T08:04:43","slug":"exchange-mailbox-move-error-2003-to-2007","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.briandeyo.us\/index.php\/2008\/06\/24\/exchange-mailbox-move-error-2003-to-2007\/","title":{"rendered":"Exchange Mailbox Move Error 2003 to 2007"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After receiving the error on multiple attempts to move the mailbox, I was finally able to get this taken care of.<\/p>\n<p>After first receiving the error I google&#8217;d the error code, and came up with various solutions.\u00a0 First of course was to add permissions to the mailbox:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>add-mailboxpermissions -id mbx -user (acct doing the moving) -accessrights fullaccess<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This really didn&#8217;t do anything for me since I had already assigned rights via ADUC<\/p>\n<p>Next was suggested to move the 2003 mailbox to another DB on the 2003 server.\u00a0 This failed also.<\/p>\n<p>The entire resolution process goes as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>exporting 2003 mailbox using exmerge<\/li>\n<li>disconnected mailbox using ADUC<\/li>\n<li>ran mailbox cleanup agent on 2003 DB<\/li>\n<li>reconnected mailbox to dummy user acct (just for backups sake)<\/li>\n<li>created new mailbox using 2007 EMC on the 2007 EVS (this didn&#8217;t work&#8230; the new mailbox only had SELF permissions on the mailbox rights in ADUC)<\/li>\n<li>removed newly created mailbox using 2007 EMC<\/li>\n<li>removed exchange attributes from 2003 AD user using ADUC<\/li>\n<li>created new Exchange 2003 mailbox using ADUC<\/li>\n<li>moved new 2003 mailbox to 2007 mailbox server (move-mailbox mbx -targetdatabase (evs\\sg\\db\\)<\/li>\n<li>removed &#8220;LegacyExchangeDN&#8221; from dummy account and created a custom X500 email address on correct user&#8217;s ADUC object<\/li>\n<li>opened mailbox in outlook and reimported PST mail<\/li>\n<li>sent test email, and calendar invite<\/li>\n<li>had a near heart-attack and left 45 minutes late from work.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After receiving the error on multiple attempts to move the mailbox, I was finally able to get this taken care of.
