Dilbert: I would be more productive with my own office. Studies show that cubicle workplaces lower intelligence. Boss: You can’t be sure that’s true because your cubicle lowered your intelligence. Dilbert: Wait… why does that make sense? Boss: Because I have an office.

Whenever I think I want an office it’s because I’m convinced I would be more productive where fewer people would come and find me. However counting the number of times I visit someone in their office, multiplied by the number of staff on my floor, I realize that people with offices aren’t less busy.

What I really want is my home office and 75%+ telework.
