How to Change the world

I began this class a few weeks ago.  The material isn’t new to me, however the bold title and enthusiasm of the class facilitators is very engaging.  The next time this class is offered I recommend taking it.

Due to the Coursera Honor Code, I am not allowed to share what I have written for the class.  I am however very interested in talking about the topics covered and welcome the conversation.  I believe this class is helping me to further define “why” I find technology to be so integral in providing solutions to the challenges we face today.  From poverty to climate change, I believe technology will provide a pivotal role in creating the world of tomorrow.

Return to the United States

<Begin Service>

Forty-four months ago I packed up my laptop, solar panels, and random USB peripherals and traveled to the Kingdom of Swaziland.  I dedicated the years that followed to creating and growing a national network of IT professionals, IT teachers, and IT enthusiasts. I am very proud to have seen The Swaziland Computer Society grow over time to its current 350 members.

Although I have left Swaziland and I am in contact with the administrators of the group and am eager to see what true international collaboration will do for our group.

Thank you to everyone who has supported The Swaziland Computer Society during it’s infancy up until today.  We are currently working towards several projects and would love to have your assistance.  If you have passion for using technology to address the developmental challenges of Swaziland and other developing countries, email [email protected] and help us use technology to move this country forward!
